Copperwood Historical Exploration

Forty-two holes, the deepest of which reached 337 metres, were drilled within the area of the Copperwood leased mineral rights during the 1950’s by U.S. Metals Refining Company (USMRC). Orvana possesses copies of the original lithology and assay logs as well as limited split core from eleven of the historical drill holes within the leased area. Also, a shaft was sunk and drifts driven to assess rock mechanic characteristics and the nature of the mineralized zone.

Although it is believed that USMRC took great care in drilling, sampling, and analyzing the drill core, these data were collected prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101 standards. Although the historical exploration information here and in adjacent figures should not be relied upon until validated by the current drilling program, as many as 23 of the holes within the Copperwood Project have been located in the field, four of them twinned, and core from six of them resampled and reassayed..
