James Gilbert , , , Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Gilbert joined Orvana in May 2016 as Chairman of the board of directors and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in August 2016. Mr. Gilbert has over 25 years of leadership and execution experience in the mining industry. He is currently a Partner in Global Energy Metals Corp. He is also a director of AQM Copper Inc., and a director and the former President & CEO of First Point Minerals Corp. Mr. Gilbert previously served as the President & CEO of Minera S.A. from August 2009 to February 2012, during which time he was also a director of Orvana. He previously held senior positions at Gerald Metals Inc., Rothschild Inc. and Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Gilbert holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA degree from Bucknell University. Mr. Gilbert was appointed to the Orvana Minerals Board and elected Chairman in May 2016.

Jeffrey Hillis, , , CPA, CA , , Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hillis joined Orvana in April 2015. He has over 10 years of senior financial and operations experience. Since 2006 Mr. Hillis has served as a CFO of various publicly listed mining companies, including Potash Ridge Corporation, Iberian Minerals Corporation and Excellon Resources. Mr. Hillis was also the Zinc Business Unit Group Controller for Xstrata Zinc Canada and was a Corporate Restructuring Manager and Senior Staff Accountant for Ernst & Young Inc. At Iberian, Mr. Hillis was based in Spain during his tenure and was part of a senior management team that raised debt and equity for the development of a $500 million underground copper mine and processing facility. As CFO, he also led the development of the finance structure from a construction phase through to commercial operations. Mr. Hillis is a CPA, CA from the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Juan Gavidia , , , Vice President, Operations

Mr. Gavidia joined Orvana as an Advisory Country Manager in February 2016 and was named Vice President, Operations in August 2016. Mr. Gavidia is a mining professional with over 20 years of leadership experience spearheading business initiatives and providing operational support to projects in the United States, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand. Prior to joining Orvana, Mr. Gavidia was an independent consultant to private clients, and his projects included general management and global business development in relation to gold and copper projects in Chile, Argentina and Germany. From 1994 until 2012, Mr. Gavidia worked with Newmont Mining in various positions of increasing responsibility, including as Operational Readiness Senior Project Manager for Newmont's Global Projects group in Peru and as Management Operating System Global Project Manager at Newmont's corporate office in Colorado. Mr. Gavidia holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Engineering in Lima, Peru and a Master of Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
